If the business trip begins on one calendar day and ends on the following calendar day without an overnight stay, the per diem meal allowance is calculated by adding up the absence time on both days. If the total absence time is more than 8 hours, the per diem meal allowance of EUR 12 in Germany is granted for the calendar day on which the majority of the absence time occurs.
